Students proudly hold their certificates after completing the Reading is an Investment program. The program is created by the Vermont State Treasurers Office and was facilitated at UID by Mr. Baron. Schools can choose to be a part of the program which provides three free books a year and a manual with activities related to the books regarding financial literacy. This year's theme was having a budget/money plan for your money. Mr. Baron read the three books provided by the Vermont State Treasurer's Office to all UID students and the students received a brochure with additional reading requirements to complete, fill out the brochure, and return to school to enter the drawing. They had to read an additional 340 minutes. Twelve UID students completed the requirements to enter the drawing and received a certificate of achievement from the State Treasurer's Office. There were over 5,000 students across Vermont who participated in the program this year. Congratulations to all the participants!
