Art Contest!!
We are asking any interested students to submit artwork for the Halloween Hustle/Fun Run t-shirt contest. Guidelines:
- all entries must be on 8.5x11" white paper and be monochrome (pencil or pen, etc)
- one entry per UID student
- name and grade of the student should be on the BACK only
- entries can be given to Mrs. Sandy or classroom teachers
- all entries should be handed in before September 26th!
- Teachers will choose winning entry
- all submissions will be publicly displayed
The winning design will be featured on t-shirts that are given to runners during the Halloween Hustle!
Partnerships with local businesses:
Hannaford: From August 30-December
6th 2014, Hannaford will give back money to schools when people buy 4
participating products (any participating product, not necessarily 4 of the same
product). Typically a coupon will be printed and given to you to put in
the UID slot at the store. If you feel that you did buy the correct
amount of products and did not get a coupon, please go to the courtesy desk to get your coupon
for UID! This is a great way to earn money for the school while you shop for
groceries for your family. There will be more info to come regarding
Price Chopper's tools for schools.
Upcoming events:
Harvest Market Sept
27-28th: UID will have a table selling peanuts, UID cookbooks, etc. We need volunteers for short shifts, to staff this table.
Open House Volunteer Table and Spirit Wear Oct 1st: If you have experience here and want to represent the PTO or help welcome new parents and answer questions, please volunteer to volunteer answering questions about volunteering, at our volunteer table!
Halloween Hustle Oct 11th: 5k and Fun Run: There are many opportunities before and during the event to help out.
Four Winds: Our first training is on Monday, 10/13 in the Jericho Elementary School (not UID) art room at 8:15AM. Join us if you can - contact Jessica for more information.
