Windy Day Fun!

*THANK YOU* to all of the volunteers and staff who made this another fantastic Windy Day!

Today, students..

made their own stamps of different VT native animal prints with Amie Milizia-Fisher and Mirsada Nurkanovic,

deciphered a tracking story, learning about how to guess what animal made a track based on clues from purposes, places, patterns and prints with Jen Pontius and Sally Wade,

went on an un-nature walk, learning about animal camouflage, warning colors, disruptive coloration and other strategies with Jamie Brillhart and Rebecca Clough,

got a hands-on demonstration of bee keeping equipment and procedures and did a honey taste test with Deborah Towne and Valerie Banschbach,

created beautiful watercolor leaf art with Stacy Luther and Jessica Dion,

became Robins and constructed their own natural nest with Nan Campbell and Kristin Liberman,

watched a puppet show about the ways different species of birds build their nests, and then used a dichotomous key to identify some real bird nests with Liz Webster and Allison Surks.

Thank you to all of the volunteers above, and others who pitched in behind the scenes to make this day possible (including Meghan Foster, the photographer here).

Please come to the Pancake Breakfast before school (6:30-7:40am) on Wednesday, June 11th to support this well-loved program!
