The Importance of Being at School

I know that all of the parents in the UID community value having their child in school.  However, I have been concerned with student attendance and tardiness lately.  There are so many lessons and activities that children only benefit from when they are actually attending their classes.  Missing extra days of school or frequently being late puts your child at a disadvantage because they miss information.

I understand that morning routines can sometimes be difficult, but please make every effort to have your child at school by 7:50 when classes start.  Likewise, I understand that your family sometimes has the rare opportunity to travel outside of school vacations, but please make these trips the exception.  If your child does miss school due to family travel, please be sure to limit the additional number of days they might miss school.  Your effort to have your child at school on time each day will pay benefits in his or her increased learning.
