As some of you know, my son Andrew is serving in the Peace Corps in Camaroon, Africa. He has just started up a literacy program for the children in the town he lives in. One of the interesting things he noticed when he first arrived is that reading was considered to be something you do only if you are studying for school or university and not for pleasure. Children are not read to at home and reading in school is mainly for rote memory purposes. Although many of the children in this program are older, most can not read or read well. He is in need of early reading books, probably K-2 age range. He's asked me to see if I can round up some books for him. If you have any of this level books hanging out at your house collecting dust and would like to donate them, please drop them off at the ID school and I will ship as many as I can fit in flat rate boxes. Thanks so much! Pam Bloch

Please Donate Books for Children in Africa
Dear UID Families,
As some of you know, my son Andrew is serving in the Peace Corps in Camaroon, Africa. He has just started up a literacy program for the children in the town he lives in. Pam Bloch
