We are off to a fantastic start at Underhill ID Elementary School! I always enjoy the start of school. It's great to see all of our returning students come back just a little bit taller and so excited to start the school year. I asked students what they enjoyed during the first week as part of my morning message and, hands down, their responses were about spending time with friends in the classroom, at lunch and at recess. The teachers at UID have been spending time this week getting students used to classroom routines. The big message to students is how we take care of ourselves, our friends and our classroom. Our school theme this year will be "Thoughtful Movements, Healthy School." We are putting this plan into practice by creating short movement breaks into our classroom routines. Not only is this fun for students, but studies show that incorporating movement into our day helps us feel better and learn more. You can look forward to more healthy school and classroom activities as the year progresses.
Wishing everyone a great school year,
